Hand- Tufted Rugs

They are plush, durable, and come in a wide range of designs and colors. Their manufacturing involves punching yarn through a pre-made backing with a handheld tool. Hand Tufted Rugs should be regularly vacuumed using gentle suction to remove dirt and debris without risking damage to the fibres. Professional cleaning once every 12-18 months is recommended to maintain its appearance and enhance longevity. Rolling instead of folding is suggested to avoid creasing the rug.

Hand- Knotted Rugs

This type of rug-making involves meticulously tying individual knots of yarn onto the warp threads, giving it a durable finish and making it last generations. Regular maintenance is the best way to prevent these from moth damage. Periodic cleaning, moth proofing, and rotating rugs are a good way to prevent moth larva from taking hold and causing damage. When inspecting rugs for moth activity, remember that most damage occurs at the back of the rug where moths are least likely to be disturbed. So, examine the back of the rug along its perimeter and look for moths, moth larvae, or the casing/webbing they leave behind. It’s a standard practice to get hand-knotted rugs professionally cleaned every 2 to 3 years.

Hand- Loom Rugs

Such rugs are known for their smooth texture and are often made from natural fibres like wool, cotton, or silk, and are perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any room. They are created on a loom using traditional weaving techniques. Smaller hand-loom rugs can be hand washed using mild detergent while larger rugs should be professionally cleaned. It is recommended to flatten the mat when air-drying to prevent shrinkage or misshaping.

Hand- Woven Rugs

These rugs are made by weaving yarns through a warp and weft. They are preferred for their durability and versatility, making them ideal for any decor style. It is essential to keep in mind that hand-woven rugs are not the most animal-friendly option and can lead to severe damage. Further, if any type of spills occur, use club soda and clean water to thoroughly flush the area. Make sure the carpet is completely dry before re-placing it flat on the floor. If it's a solid mass, it is better to immediately contact your dry cleaner.
